ABOUT ABOUT

Most of us have stories that are burning to be told. Some of us want to write them down. If you write or want to write, this is a workshop for you.

The workshop will be taught by author Janisse Ray, who will be spending the week on the Wesleyan campus as the Campbell-Stripling Visiting Writer, which is funded in memory of the late Kay Stripling-Byer. Stripling-Byer was the North Carolina Poet Laureate and author of many collections of poetry -- she grew up in southern Georgia and was a Wesleyan graduate.

The workshop will take place in Taylor Hall Room 127 on the Wesleyan campus.

Ray will lead us into the world of creative nonfiction, especially memoir. Using writing prompts, we will explore story ideas and hopefully get started on telling our stories. Beginners are welcome.

Please bring your journal or notepad and something to write with. You may also want to bring your to-go mug & your water bottle.

The workshop is free and open to the public.

A small reception will follow the workshop.
