Spend a full day immersed in writing with author Janisse Ray, who brings passion, humor, and an authentic style to teaching creative nonfiction. This workshop is for anyone who pursues writing, from rank beginners to those already published. Janisse will share her top secrets about writing and give you the information you need to pursue stories you want to write. She makes the hard work of writing fun, forgiving, and freeing. She packs the day with writing, peppered with stretches, walks, taste-testings, community-building, and laughing. The schedule includes mini-lectures on

shaping ideas into essays
thinking about a book-length work
agents & publishing & marketing
avoiding dull narrative
art & craft

In one memorable day you can learn so much about transforming your ideas into compelling, imaginative, useful stories. You'll leave with inspiration, skills, and new perspectives that not only rocket you toward your goals but feed your body, mind, and soul.

The workshop commences at 9 a.m. with good coffee and a warm-up writing exercise. Lunch is served at noon. The workshop ends at 4.
